Some Mixed Media Fun

My friend and amazing Benicia artist Mike Kendall is putting on a fundraiser to benefit the Vallejo mosaic stairs outdoor art project. He has been cutting out hearts from wood, plywood, and HDF board to give to local artists to decorate as they see fit. I put these together for the cause.

This was my first attempt at hand painting eyes on glass cabochons. It was a lot of fun. I found the ceramic masks years ago… they make their way into a lot of different projects. Beyond that, a lot of mixed media techniques used.

I am happy to report that both of these have already sold. But there are still some amazing works available for people to pick up. Honestly, at $60/pop it is a fantastic deal. If you are in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, his studio is located in Benicia, CA. Give mike an email at mikekendall703@gmail.com if you’d like to purchase one of the remaining hearts. New ones are still arriving through March 15, and they will be for sale until he runs out.

Pardon our dust…

I recently moved my site to a new ISP. Thanks to Surpass Hosting for several years of great service. But, it was time to move on. Now with Digital Spork. Gotta love that name.

Meanwhile, here’s my hand, which I cast in iron many years ago.

Enjoy!
