Something a bit on the cute side. Kitties and skulls… these are a few of my favorite things…
Otherwise known as Death’s Head Hawkmoth. I learned tonight that there are three species of Death’s Head Hawkmoth… the Acherontia Atropos, which I based this drawing on, Acherontia Styx and Acherontia Lachesis. Fascinating!
My husband requested I draw something with tentacles for one of my INKTober drawings.
I have been working with the Tachikawa comic pens since Day 10, and I LOVE them!! I used a couple different Maru nibs for this drawing, one a bit stiffer than the other that creates really fine lines. They work well with Speedball ink.
Ironically I tried the Speedball nibs a while back, and was not impressed with the way they work.
But working with the nibs and ink takes me back to my art classes with Mr. Wong in high school. Had a generic pen nib, and he later gave me a croquill pen, which is similar to the Maru, but larger.
Someday I’ll do another pointillism drawing. All those dots…
Just like that, the weekend is over and Monday is ready to pounce.
I spent a few hours in Benicia today for two gallery receptions. Both were focused on ceramics as art rather than craft. Great stuff.
This is a design I’ve played around with off & on.
A goldfish with fangs for my INKTober Day 17 submission. He looks like he could be telling a story, or he could be saying “don’t make me bite you!”
The Scream was a perfect description of my week so far.
Really not much to say about this one.
Ever have one of those days?
Yeah, it’s been like that.
So for my Day 14 submission of INKTober, I created my inner ogre. That smile is from insanity… the head represents no one in particular, just my frustration.
For my Day 13 submission of INKtober, I present to you Monday the Slug.
Monday doesn’t like the day of the week he es named for any more than we do. Saying you have “a case of the Mondays” when he is around will hurt his feelings.
Monday could use a hug.
