INKtober Day 8: MY Flying Eye

My submission for INKtober Day 8 is a design I’ve been playing with for a while… my interpretation of the Flying Eye symbol.

Though he didn’t create the symbol, legendary artist and pinstriper Kenneth Howard, aka Von Dutch, made the Flying Eye “his” with the graphic he created.

This is my version of the Flying Eye. The wings and feathers are made out of pinstripers’ paint brushes.

InkTober Day 3: Peeping Willow

I recently found out a friend and fellow artist, Mike Kendall, had surgery for retinal detachment. In honor of my friend Mike, I created a Peeping Willow for Day 3 of my InkTober submission.

The Phoenyx has landed!

But it’s going to be a ‘work in progress’ for a while.

I’ve done it! I finally decided to install WordPress on my domain/site. I’ve decided to phase out my blog and go with something a little more robust.

If art galleries can have ‘soft openings’ while they are still putting the gallery together, why not?

Speaking of ‘work in progress,’ this is something I’ve been playing with to break in some new paintbrushes I bought from Jeral Tidwell, called the ‘Broken Pinkies.’ I had the custom brushes already (and I LOVE them!) but these are a most welcome addition to my brush box. Continue reading
